Our very own Kim Prochko was recently recognized as this year’s Saginaw Valley State University’s Outstanding Public School Academy Employee of the Year Award winner! Mrs. Prochko is a valuable asset to the Kingsbury community, and continues to embody the heart of who we are. This nomination is a testament of her dedication, hard work, and the lasting impact she’s had on our Kingsbury community.
“For over 12 years, Kingsbury has been more than just a school; it has been a second home,” Kim shared. “I was drawn to the small class sizes, outdoor learning, and most importantly, the sense of community that still thrives today.”
Kim first joined the Kingsbury community as a parent and soon became involved, serving as the former president of the Kingsbury Parent Association. Her passion for our school led her to step in as a long-term substitute, and eventually, she found her calling as an intervention teacher.
Her passion for intervention was sparked by witnessing the positive impact that extra support had on her son’s learning journey. “I saw firsthand the need for support systems that allow students to grow without having to leave the nurturing environment of Kingsbury,” said Kim.
Today, thanks to Mrs. Prochko’s dedication and the support of colleagues and grants, Kingsbury’s K–8 intervention program is a growing resource for our students. Its programs and staff like these that make Kingsbury so special. We are proud to celebrate Kim’s well-deserved recognition through our partnership with SVSU and even prouder to have her as part of our Kingsbury family.
